Trying tampons for the first time.

This one is for the ladies!

8 tampons

Being raised in a country where you only see pads advertised on TV, I’ve never thought about using tampons.

Since I was 13, I’ve been using pads. It was what my mom and sister gave me when I first got my period. It never occurred to me that there were other options until high school.

I knew that tampons exist, but I’ve never met someone who used them; they weren’t a thing in my country.

Let me fill you up on why tampons don’t have an excellent reputation where I live:

•They go up, anything that goes up is a no-no.

That’s it, I guess!

About a year ago, I started thinking about trying them but never had the balls to do it (the irony)!

Last month, I finally got the courage I needed, cheered by friends who use them, I went to the supermarket and got a pack, it’s hard to find them here, you wouldn’t find them in your local store, you need to go to a big supermarket; I got the pack and waited for the waterfall!

When hurricane Mary hit (bloody Mary), I tried them. It felt so uncomfortable! I wanted to take it out and go back to the pad. However, I read everywhere that it would be uncomfortable for the first time, so I handled the uneasiness.

It was hard to not think about an alien object inside of the queen’s castle, but I felt clean and nothing is better than a clean castle.

After the first day, I got the hang of it; I set alarms every 5 hours because I have a pea brain that forgets easily and I didn’t want to keep the alien in the castle for too long.

I couldn’t use one during the night because I sleep over 8 hours (I hibernate). I used a pad to avoid any complications such as TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome) even if it rarely happens.

‘Will I be using tampons from now on? YES, they make me feel clean and I like that.

‘Will I use them during the night?’ Not for now, I’m not getting up in the middle of my hibernation to change it.

‘Do I recommend tampons to other girls?’ Hell yes! But remember that you shouldn’t force yourself into something you are not comfortable doing. Listen to your body!!

Hope you found this blog useful, let me know if you have questions!
