How I Overcame My Allergies

Please do not try this if you get severe symptoms!

Since I could remember, I had a strawberry allergy. Eating one delicious strawberry came at a high price.

At first, the reaction would be black dots all over my neck, face, and shoulders, sometimes even my thighs. I looked like a human strawberry. They were itchy and that made them annoying.

When I put two and two together and realized that the dots were an allergy reaction, I eliminated strawberries from my diet, which broke my heart.

I stopped eating Strawberry jam, cake, pies, and even biscuits. They emotionally hurt me. How could my favorite fruit turn into a constant nightmare?

A couple of years ago I said fuck it and started eating them again. At first, I got the dots over my neck and shoulders, then the itching stopped, then eventually the dots stopped as well. I don’t know if the reactions stopped because I got older or because my body stopped caring.

Although I can eat strawberries freely, I rarely get the red dots (like once a year), they don’t itch and I barely noticed them. However, I cannot eat other berries, such as raspberries and blueberries, but I low-key don’t care because I hate the way they taste.

I still consider myself allergic to strawberries because sometimes, if I eat an enormous quantity (which I often do), the itchy bitchy dots come back. I know that I’m not in the clear, but if you see a strawberry, send it my way.

What about you? Are you allergic to anything?

Disclaimer: Please please please, do not eat the food you are allergic to, I don’t know how would your body react as I am not a professional. I only know how my body reacts to strawberries.
