Hoping I get there asap.

I was watching the fire episode of The Office when Jim asked his coworkers about movies they’d watch on a deserted island when this idea struck me. What are the 5 books I’d take with me to a deserted island?

I quickly listed 5 of my favorite titles in my mind and thought about their worth and the role they'd play during my stay.

Now, one of the things I like to do is sit in silence. Add that to the calming sound of the waves and the warm sun, being on a deserted island with books sounds like bliss.

1- Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte:

Get it here!

This is my favorite depressing book. It makes me sad for Heathcliff and I like to feel sad sometimes on purpose, so it’s perfect for my stay. I also wouldn’t get bored of it as it was really interesting and funny.

2- How To Fall In Love by Cecelia Ahern:

Get it here!

This book is about hope, love, and happiness so it’s normal I would choose it as my companion. I related to one of the characters on different occasions and it made me cry, laugh, and believe in second chances. It’s also perfect to give me hope when I give up and want to end it all.

3- The Hating Game by Sally Thorne:

Get it here!

I’ve just read this book last month so it’s still fresh in my mind. I chose to add it to the list because it was hilarious and adorable. It’s perfect for some touchy-touchy time. Hey, I’m alone on a deserted island, I need some spicy romance to keep me sane.

4- Pride And Prejudice by Jane Austen:

Get it here!

Happy endings are necessary for my stay on the island so it’s normal I would go with this one. I enjoyed it immensely and I know I wouldn’t get bored of it. I know I won’t get bored of Mr. Darcy being emotionally inarticulate.

5- The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A Fuck by Mark Manson:

Get it here!

I always need to have non-fiction with me to keep me balanced. What’s better for a lonely stay on a deserted island than a book about not giving a fuck? Since I love Mark’s work, it is only natural that I would choose this one to keep me entertained.

Honestly, there are a couple of books I have in mind that I can add to the list because I can’t simply just choose 5 books out of the hundreds I read. Also, I believe I’d read anything if I’m alone and bored. I could even read a dictionary just to stay entertained.

What about you? What are the 5 books you’d take with you on a deserted island? Let me know below.

Until next time, read a book.
